What is LinQ Medical?
LinQ Medical is a Medicare-funded sexual health clinic located within the M Clinic premises that provided PrEP (or Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis) prescriptions to men who have sex with men (MSM). The clinic is staffed by doctors and nurses that provide education and appropriate testing to ensure that you are taking PrEP safely and correctly.
What is PrEP?
PrEP is a highly effective medication that, when taken daily, prevents you from acquiring HIV. It is listed on the PBS therefore only requires a GP script to purchase at a pharmacy, ongoing renal function and sexual health testing.

What are your fees?
Appointments at LinQ Medical adhere to a Medicare-structure fee system.
We can only see clients who have Medicare and are willing to use their name and Medicare card for their appointment.
An upfront payment is required, but then you receive immediate approval for a Medicare rebate, therefore your out-of-pocket payment for all appointments is still $15
|Appointment Type||Payment Upfront||Medicare Rebate||Out-of-pocket payment|
|Initial PrEP appointment||$88.95||$73.95||$15|
|PrEP Follow Up||$53.20||$38.20||$15|
|General Doctor Consult||$53.20||$38.20||$15|
If you can’t attend an appointment and fail to cancel it, you will be charged $15 payable prior to your next appointment.
If you do not have Medicare, you can access a PrEP prescription from either Royal Perth Hospital Sexual Health Service or South Terrace Clinic in Fremantle.
How do I get the Medicare Rebate?
Your Medicare rebate can only be deposited into a bank account, which means that you have to use a CHEQUE or SAVINGS account to get the money deposited back in your account. That refund may take a few days to then be deposited into your account.
We DO NOT ACCEPT Apple/Google/Samsung Pay or any wearables or PayPass technology for refunds. These utilise a credit account which is NOT COMPATIBLE WITH A MEDICARE REFUND
To get the rebate, you will need to bring a physical savings or debit card which requires you to enter your pin so that you get the refund back.
If this is not possible, you will have to lodge a Medicare claim online via myGov or through the Medicare Express Plus App. More information can be found on the Medicare website
